In trading on Wednesday, oil & gas exploration & production shares were relative laggards, down on the day by about 4.3%. Helping drag down the group were shares of Linn Company LLC (LNCO), down about 16.2% and shares of Stone Energy Corporation (SGY) down about 15.8% on the day.
